Description

Although the BaBar experiment at the PEP-II e+e- collider at SLAC was designed to study CP-violation in B meson decays, it allows for the investigation of a broad range of other important topics in flavor physics. This talk will briefly describe how to detect and trigger on interesting physics at BaBar. Some recent results on charm meson decays from e+e- experiments reveal the potential to look for signs of physics beyond the Standard Model. Also discussed is an interesting but less explored avenue for the study of hadron production from collisions of two photons. Finally, this talk will touch on some of the challenging open questions that remain unanswered and how we can address them in current and future experiments.
