Description

The LSND experiment showed evidence of electron antineutrino appearance. Many different possible explanations have been suggested since then. However, most of them have been subsequently ruled out by more recent experiments. In this talk I will review all the different suggestions and comment on their problems. I will make special emphasis on one of the latest, based on heavy (mostly sterile) neutrino decay. A critical test will come soon from the MiniBooNE experiment.
