Minutes:

  • Need 2 weeks to get the very first working version of TOP feature extraction code ready for testing at KEK. KEK system is yet not ready to run these tests, hopefully it will be in 2 week time.
  • Need input from Vasily:
    • We observed some info missing from the TOP raw-data header when PS is bypassed (or inactive), TYPE, Version, Phase, and SCROD_ID. These words are needed to construct the header of the actual TOP data, which will be sent out by the TOP Feature Ext code to the main ROPC DAQ code and later downstream to the HLT, etc. This data format should be the same as the data format of the normal TOP data when PS is active, or not bypassed. Shahab is communicating directly with Vasily regarding this.
    • Vasily suggested making the raw-data header the same as the actual TOP data header. Does this require usage of the PS at all in the firmware? Is the SCROD_ID the same as the ID that is hard-wired to each SCROD through an eFuse register? Similarly, are you reading other registers to determine what should be the TYPE, VERSION, and Phase, or are these just constant values?
  • A minor update of the UH Test bench might allow us to run these tests with better occupancies. In the current setup, TOP BS receives a trigger and sends out data. A fake hit (pulse) is sent to the BS from a completely independent setup. These are not synchronized, and it may be possible to sync them using a special board that Matt may have. We want to trigger the FTSW using the pulser, and this would ensure a nearly 100% occupancy instead of random hits.
