Description

Recent measurements from cosmic ray and direct detection experiments have given tantalizing but confusing hints of dark matter observation. Various groups have introduced a class of models in an attempt to explain these anomalies in terms of annihilating dark matter containing a new GeV scale “dark force” which mixes with the standard model photon. I will present the results of searches for this dark gauge boson at BaBar as well as further studies that should be done at electron-positron colliders. In addition, I will present possible fixed-target based dark force experiments as well as signatures that could be probed at the Tevatron and the LHC.
