Description

The precision program at the LHC is typically understood as the comparison of data with theoretical predictions of NNLO QCD accuracy. In this non-technical talk I’ll review the field’s state of the art and elaborate on several applications that have played a major role in confirming our ability to test the Standard Model with percent-level precision. The implications of the precision program in searches for physics beyond the SM at the LHC will also be discussed as well as the current/future directions in this field.
