Description
ANITA is a NASA-sponsored stratospheric long-duration balloon payload designed to record radio signals observed from altitudes of 37-40 km above the Antarctic ice sheets. These radio signals arise from the interactions of ultra-high energy cosmic particles in the Antarctic atmosphere and ice sheets. ANITA's goal is the detection of the long-sought-after ultra-high energy cosmogenic neutrino flux, which arises from collisions of ultra-high energy cosmic rays with the cosmic microwave background radiation throughout the universe. I will report on results from the first three flights of ANITA.
