Description
I will review the current status and physics motivation of Belle II, the upcoming Super B Factory class experiment starting soon at KEK in Tsukuba, Japan. Belle II will become the leading experiment for exploration of the physics of B mesons, D mesons and tau leptons. Recent results now suggest that flavor physics could be an alternative path to breaking the Standard Model of particle physics. (This talk is based on a lecture given at the US Belle II summer school in Oxford, Mississippi).
