Prof. Alakabha Datta on the Flavor Sector of the Standard Model and New Physics

The standard model of particle is a very successful but incomplete theory. I will discuss the flavor structure of the standard model that involves the interactions of the quarks and leptons with the gauge and higgs bosons. I will argue that there has to be new physics to explain the puzzles of the flavor sector of the standard model. I will discuss how we can test the standard model and look for new physics with flavor observables.
