Description
The common feature of the processes searched within the low-background physics field is that they all are very rare. In order to measure these rare processes, deep understanding of their background sources as well as very good detectors are needed. Two table-top experiments, GALATEA and MINIDEX, aimed to face some of the challenges of low-background physics are introduced. Their first results are presented.
